TALK TO ME ABOUT ME ROLO

Rolo likes Mukuro, for a more restrained version of 'like' than he usually gets when he actually likes somebody (because Mukuro himself is so non-demonstrative, basically). He is VERY VERY interested by Mukuro. Mukuro has the rare privilege of being someone he can actually relate to and have relate to him, even though they're very different in how they do approach and feel about things. Because of this, having Mukuro in his life is a huge relief to Rolo of the pressure that constantly builds up on him. Beyond that, Mukuro himself in his dealings with Rolo has been undemanding of things that would be troublesome but offering enough laid-back affection that Rolo himself doesn't feel ...left out, I guess, of what Mukuro is thinking and feeling.

He's very prepared if he needs to to kill Mukuro someday -- he's aware that Mukuro is a murderous sadist and thus is pretty sure that if he misjudges things or if they go sour he or Turquoise will become a target just for the shits and giggles and Mukuro not wanting to have wasted any of the energy he's put into being Rolo's buddy. Hell, one of the reasons he's questing for a knife is a safety measure in case things like his relationship with Mukuro go sour. But at the same time it's worth the risk for him! He just. Likes hanging around Mukuro.

Mukuro was one of the few people who had an (item) manifestation in his heart on the 'want' table. He wants to be able to be around Mukuro and be this equal, understood figure, he wants a friend! As much as he doesn't really... have a concept of 'friend' so actually typing that out makes me feel like 'NO THAT'S WRONG' but I think it's similar for Mukuro so you know what I mean. He had been moderately insecure but people in his heart made him much more secure and less afraid to take the risks that Mukuro would drop him so he just wants to go hang out with Mukuro. IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION THE OTHER DAY THEY ARE BUDS. Definitely Mukuro saying things like "We'll discover it together" does give him a bit of a heart-skip because he is wanteddddd haha goddd.

He does know this could lead to trouble sometime (Breeze not liking Mukuro, knowing Mukuro has acted out against members of Peridot) but for now he's not bothering to think about that because he can't predict it anyway and it's too much trouble to think it through.
